Pauline
is a self-confident, nine-year-old bundle of energy and unbelievably stubborn.
Pauline lives alone with her mother, Anna; Pauline's father took off to
America years ago. Pauline has never had a kind word for any of her mother's
lovers in the past and that's why Anna has kept her new boyfriend, Pit,
a secret. Pauline rumbles the relationship before long, however, and Anna
swears never to lie to Pauline again; she also tells Pit about Pauline.
As soon as she does so, however, urban cowboy and professed anti-family
man Pit finds himself obliged to make his apologies and put an end to
their affair. Anna suffers as a result and Pauline becomes bent on revenge.
She decides to make this 'bloody nuisance's' life a misery; she succeeds,
too, with a little help from her friend Leon. Together they manage to
cut off Pit's trouser legs, pinch the valves from his motorbike tires
and pour coca cola into the petrol tank. However, shortly afterwards,
Pit has a bad motorbike accident and Pauline is left with a guilty conscience.
Once again Pauline swears to help her mother: this time her plan is to
endear herself to her mother's ex-lover. No easy undertaking, as it happens...
