SANNINGUMI-KAITO X MONOGATARI
Midori is a pretty place on one of the many tiny islands in this part of Japan. Over the past few weeks, messages signed by a mysterious ‘Phantom X’ have been received in many of the local towns, threatening an imminent series of burglaries. The anonymous message that arrives in Midori states that the village is shortly to be robbed of its most treasured possession. Hachibei, Hakase and Mo-chan are all in the same class at school and are the best of friends. Naturally they’ve heard of the threat and have already started trying to work out what the phantom could possibly be after. One day, Hakase is surprised by burglars at his home. However, he manages to signal to his friends and let them know that he is in trouble. Together, the boys manage to fight off the thieves and the next morning, their heroic exploits are all over the papers. Inspired by their success, the boys will now stop at nothing in their quest to capture the Phantom. Hakase has heard of a pirate ship full of priceless jewels that is being kept hidden in a cave. He and Mo-chan set off to try and find the cave. Meanwhile, Hachibei has been challenged to a judo match by Gonta, the mayor’s grandson. However, when the day of the fight arrives, Gonta has disappeared . . .
